Market Validation & Technology Commercialization Expert

We are seeking an experienced expert to support participants of the PRIME Project in market validation and in translating scientific research outcomes into credible, market-driven go-to-market pathways.

The role combines expert training, advisory, and consulting responsibilities, supporting research teams at various stages of their commercialization journey, with a particular focus on science-based and deep-tech projects. This is an expert and advisory role and does not involve project management.

Scope of Responsibilities:

1. Training Design and Delivery

• Design and deliver advanced, interactive training sessions on customer discovery, market validation, and business model development tailored to science-based projects.
• Develop training programmes that support the transition from problem-solution fit to market-level validation.
• Apply case studies, practical exercises, simulations, and hands-on work based on participants’ real projects.

2. Expert and Advisory Support

• Provide expert support to participants in:
  • identifying and testing key market, customer, and adoption hypotheses,
  • planning and conducting structured interviews with customers and relevant market stakeholders,
  • analysing validating and disconfirming evidence,
  • translating validated insights into credible go-to-market strategies.
• Consult on business models and commercialization strategies.
• Identify and address common challenges and barriers related to the commercialization of scientific innovations.

3. Programme Development

• Contribute to the evaluation of training effectiveness based on participant feedback and achieved outcomes.
• Support the continuous improvement of training content in response to evolving market conditions and programme experience.
• Document best practices, tools, and case studies for the PRIME Project knowledge base.
• Collaborate with other trainers, mentors, and the FNP team to ensure coherence across the programme portfolio.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in technology commercialization, technology entrepreneurship, or technology transfer, including work with science-based or deep-tech projects.
• Practical knowledge of Customer Discovery methodologies and/or Lean Startup.
• Experience working with the Business Model Canvas or similar innovation frameworks.
• Proven experience in training or advisory work with technology-driven or research teams.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate business concepts into language accessible to scientific audiences.
• Very good command of English (minimum C1 level).

Nice to Have:

• Experience in strategy consulting, venture capital, corporate strategy, or startup acceleration programmes.
• Knowledge of technology commercialization processes and early-stage market positioning.
• Experience working with intellectual property landscapes, including patent-based competitive analysis.
• Educational background in business, economics, science, engineering, or innovation management.
